THE MR. HIBALAG PAGEANT
The Mr. Hibalag Pageant is a celebration of culture, charisma, and the spirit of the Silliman community. This pageant is not just a competition but a platform that brings together Silliman gentlemen from diverse backgrounds to showcase their talents, intelligence, and dedication to social causes.
Our Mission
Mr. Hibalag 2024 aims to inspire and empower Silliman gentlemen to become role models in their communities. Through this pageant, we seek to highlight the values of leadership, integrity, and service. Each candidate is encouraged to present their unique perspectives and contributions to society, fostering a sense of unity and purpose.
Our HISTORY
The Mr. Hibalag Pageant, an integral part of Silliman University's Founders' Week Celebration, is organized by the Renaissance Youth Leaders Forum, a socio-civic student organization at the university. The pageant began in 2008 under the name Mr. Silliman, serving as an entertainment event during the university's festive week in August.Over the years, Mr. Hibalag has transformed from its humble beginnings into an advocacy-driven pageant that empowers young men at Silliman University to express their views and champion their causes. This evolution reflects the growing emphasis on leadership, community service, and social impact.Held annually, the pageant's grand finale takes place at the Hibalag Booth Festival stage at Ravello Field, a highlight of the university's Founders' Week Celebration. Despite a brief hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Hibalag resumed in 2022 with the return of face-to-face classes in the Philippines, continuing its tradition of celebrating the charisma, talent, and advocacies of Silliman gentlemen.
